LAZARA KANE NARCISUSS

Picking up praise from those in the know for their highly entertaining live shows, Lazarus Kane is an exuberant persona-come-musical-project. Breaking their recorded silence, 'Narcissus' is a confident debut that sounds like a debaucherous late-night collision between Boney M's dazzling disco and the Fat White Family's poppier recent material. Marking the 31st release on Dan Carey's concept label Speedy Wunderground, Dan's essential Swarmatron drones ominously in the background, rising to prominence as the track takes a dancier direction around the 3 minute 30 mark, before descending into a 70-inspired wig out for the remainder. Discussing the recording process the band explained, “Mr. Kane was adamant that the song be recorded in one take, not stopping until his kimono was soaked through with the sweat of pure, unbridled emotion”.
